The Society has two prizes; one for a case presentation and the other for research or a clinical audit project. Posters are presented at the Society's May Scientific Meeting on subjects which will advance knowledge in restorative dentistry.

The regulations governing the prizes are as follows:

  2. The work must not have been previously published unless in abstract form.
  3. Consultants, Honorary Consultants, and Senior Lecturers will not be eligible to enter for the prize.
  4. Previous winners of the award are not eligible.

    1. Submit a written structured abstract of
    2. approximately 500 words to the Honorary Secretary by 1st April each year.
    3. Display the poster (size A1) at the May Scientific Meeting.

The successful candidates however, will be encouraged to submit a research paper or case report to the European Journal for Prosthodontic and Restorative Dentistry on the understanding that the paper has a footnote stating that it has been awarded by the British Society for Restorative Dentistry.

Rules of judgement for the prizes

  1. The prizes will be awarded by the Council of the Society on the recommendations of the two members appointed for this purpose and such additional assessors as the Council may wish to consult.
  2. The assessors appointed to nominate the prize winner will take into account the originality, content and scientific value of the poster. The Council's decision on the award of the prizes is final.
  3. The Society reserves the right to withhold the awards if it is considered that the papers are not of sufficient merit.
