Tony qualified at Guys Dental Hospital in 1981. He pursued a restorative training pathway with his higher training at the Eastman Dental Hospital including an elective period of study at the University of Washington Dental School in Seattle.
In 1992 he was appointed to Plymouth and Torbay Hospitals in Devon to establish a new referral service for Restorative Dentistry. He retired from this in 2016 after 24 years service. During this time he was and still is very involved with the MRD examination of the English/Glasgow Royal Colleges as both Chairman of Examiners and Board. He was also on the successful bid committee for the Peninsula Dental School. For two years he was Chairman of the Plymouth Section BDA. He has a private practice in Yelverton with his wife Kerry.
In 2016 his Presidential meeting was held at the University of Plymouth entitled ‘Charting a Safe Passage’ reflecting the maritime environment of Plymouth and orientated towards successful treatment planning. This was emphasised with a trip to Princess Yachts for delegates to experience the super yachts that are constructed by that firm.
Away from dentistry Tony enjoys sailing, classic car rallying, shooting and gardening.
